Monthly Updates

May Update

After nearly 14 months of living abroad I finally got to see some of my New Zealand family members! Even though face time and Skype are great for connecting with family back at home, it isn’t the same as face to face. My aunty and uncle have come over to the UK in search of new opportunities, and it was great that they took the time to come to London for a few days so we could catch up! We spent some time exploring Regents Park, which is an absolute must see if your in London (especially in the summer), with its flower gardens, multiple lakes, and chilled out cafe’s dotted around. We then had an evening at Hyde Park sharing a picnic dinner and simply catching up on life. I had such a n enjoyable time with them and even though goodbyes are always hard our time together was worth it.

So what else have I been up to this month? I have to say a majority of my time has been spent working! However I have managed to find some time to explore London and I think I have stumbled across my new favourite place, Covent Garden, with its cafe’s, shops and array of market stalls, there is plenty to see and do. I could get lost in this part of London for hours on end!

The London Transport Museum is located in the heart of Covent Garden, so I took the opportunity to take a look around. It’s a brilliant museum, especially for children. The displays consist of all the different forms of transport used in London from the first horse and carriage back in the old days to the tube system today. Did you know that when the tube was first built in London it was all done by hand? I certainly didn’t!

Welcome To The Kiwi Chronicles!

I believe that every path in life that we take, leads us to where we are today.

If you had told me five years ago that I would be living and working in London, as well as exploring the playground of the United Kingdom and Europe, I wouldn’t have believed you. Fast forward five years and this is exactly what I am doing! Living the dream!

Just over a year ago I brought a one way ticket to London from New Zealand, squeezed as much of my belongings as I could into one suit case, and set off on my adventure. After a quick stop over in Singapore for five days,  I finally landed into a world of the unknown, London! It’s a very daunting experience arriving in a new country, new city, without knowing a soul in the world, and starting a completely new chapter in life with an untold story waiting to unfold. But let me tell you, it was the best decision I have ever made!

So sit back, relax, and come and follow me on my journey of exploration and experience, because trust me THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
